Booking An Appointment
Please make a separate appointment for each member of the family who needs to be seen by the doctor. Please cancel any appointments you cannot keep as soon as possible so that the appointment can be offered to another patient.
Consultations are by appointment to help minimize patient waiting time, but urgent cases will be seen on the same day.
Appointments may be made personally or by telephoning 0151 295 8810 during normal surgery hours.
Please ask for the next available appointment if you don't get an appointment for non-urgent problems on the same day.
Tell us if you are in a telephone box. We will ring you back. Say immediately if your call is an emergency.
Tell us if you want someone to accompany you during consultation, intimate examination or a private room to discuss any matters. Remember that the results of tests can only be given to the patient.
Please switch off your mobile phone before entering the consultation room.
Home Visits
The doctor typically sees four patients in the practice in the time it takes to do a single home visit. For this reason, we ask our patients to come to the practice if at all possible. However, we can visit you at home if your condition means you cannot attend our practice.
Home visits are always made after surgery hours and are usually made within six hours unless considered to be urgent. If you are too ill to come to the surgery and would like the doctor to visit, please ring before 10.30 AM and give brief details to the receptionist as this helps to plan the order of the visits.
You should never request visits because you do not want to take time off work or because you do not have a car.
