Out Of Hours
Arrangements for Off Duty Cover
Dr Bicha and Dr Singh's practice being a small practice does use the Deputising Service at times, as well as local Doctors to enable doctors to have free time.
GP Services Out-of-Hours
During out-of-hours (when the surgery is not open), this practice is supported by Urgent Care 24 (UC 24) for urgent medical problems that cannot wait until next normal surgery hours.
Any unnecessary demand may result in delay in attending to seriously ill patients. Please telephone 0151 295 8810 and listen carefully to a pre-recorded message indicating how to contact the duty doctor. Please give as much information as possible, including your telephone number. If a doctor has not called within a reasonable time please ring again. Remember to have a pen and paper, and if you are using a public telephone, have enough money to make two calls, including a call to a mobile phone.
On Sundays and Bank Holidays please try to ring before 11.00 AM if you need a visit. This will allow time for the doctor to visit you before the duty Chemist opens from 12:00 noon to 1:00 PM.
In an emergency it is appropriate to dial 999 and ask for an ambulance. An emergency is a critical or life threatening situation such as, unconsciousness, heavy blood loss, suspected broken bones, stab wounds, severe chest pain, suspected heart attacks, difficulty in breathing, acute abdominal pain and convulsions.
